Rino Mastrotto Pomari

Since its founding in the late 1950s, Rino Mastrotto has grown from a small family tannery into a globally recognised leader in luxury leather production — and Pomari, based near Vicenza in Italy, represents the pinnacle of that legacy.

Known for its precision, consistency, and refined craftsmanship, Pomari has become a trusted partner to some of the world’s top luxury houses. What sets them apart is their ability to balance tradition with modern responsibility — preserving true Italian craftsmanship while embracing innovation and sustainable practices.

Splenda

Splenda is a family-run Spanish tannery based in the city of Igualada (Barcelona province) that has produced vegetable-tanned leather for nearly a century. The company itself describes its origins going back to the 1930s and positions itself as an artisanal tannery that has remained in Igualada’s traditional tanning district.

From the beginning Splenda specialized in vegetable tanning — using plant extracts such as mimosa and quebracho — which gives its leathers a compact but supple fibre structure and the capacity to develop a rich patina over time. Their catalogue and product descriptions show this long use of classic vegetable tannages across lines such as “Classic,” “Soft Bom,” “Kansas” (pull-up), and sole leather.

Curtidos Badia

Curtidos Badia is a four-generation, family-owned tannery from Igualada, Spain with roots stretching back to the 19th century. The company was founded in 1889 by Benet Badia and has grown from a local tannery into an international supplier of high-end, full-grain bovine leathers for fashion, footwear and saddlery.

Its story is tightly bound to Igualada’s long leather tradition: the town’s “leather cluster” can be traced in documents as far back as the 14th century, and Curtidos Badia has positioned itself as one of the modern heirs to that craft while investing in technology and process improvements.
